A feast for the eyes and sweet tooth at Brewode’s Cornucopia cafe and sweet shop in Hackney

Brewode’s Cornucopia on Broadway Market is a great little haven of trinkets, handmade gifts and old fashioned sweets in large glass jars, set against the backdrop of a traditional cafe with mismatched chairs and wooden tables. I love the cosy and welcoming feel of the place, and the fact there’s so much to look at. It’s a real feast for the eyes and definitely somewhere you’re encouraged to linger awhile.

Not only is Louise, the owner, absolutely lovely, she serves great coffee and cake too. Definitely go for the carrot cake. It’s moist and moorish and dotted with chopped walnuts as all good carrot cakes should be.
